The Tin That Started It All
There's a cake tin in Trish's kitchen that's been in use at Cafe Norsewood since the very beginning. It was a wedding present — given to Garry and Robyn Yearbury, the original owners of the cafe, and this November it turns 58 years old.
It's still the tin the fruit cake gets baked in today. Same tin. Same care. Different hands, same kitchen, same village. There aren't many cafes in New Zealand that can say that — and Trish wouldn't have it any other way.
If you've never had a slice of the fruit cake, this winter is a good time to put that right.
